Packers. Lambeau. January. Week 18. Apparently the NFL decided the 2026 Lions season needed one more trip into enemy territory before the regular season could officially end. I may not like the Packers, but even I have to admit this is one heck of a way to finish the schedule.

The NFL assigns the exact Week 18 date, kickoff time and network later in the season. Until those are officially announced, don't build a flight or hotel plan that depends on the game being played at a specific time.
The Lions had won three straight games at Lambeau before Green Bay ended that streak last season. Now Detroit goes back to Wisconsin for the final game of the 2026 regular season.
There are road games where the city is the main attraction and football is one part of the weekend. Green Bay isn't really that trip. You go to Green Bay because the Lions are playing the Packers at Lambeau Field.
Detroit and Green Bay see each other twice every year. That doesn't make anybody like them more.

You're there for football. That's part of what makes the trip work. The stadium, tailgating, Packers history and the entire surrounding area make game day the center of the weekend instead of just one item on the itinerary.
Green Bay is not Chicago, Miami or Atlanta. There are fewer rooms to work with, and a Packers home weekend brings a lot of people into a relatively small area.
The easiest setup for game day, especially if walking is realistic for your group. Convenience can come with a higher price.

As a Lions fan, it pains me a little to say this, but Lambeau is one of those football trips you should probably do once. The stadium is historic, the whole town revolves around the game and Lions-Packers in Week 18 is about as good a reason as we're going to get.
