Enemy territory. Cold weather. Rivalry football. A trip Lions fans may complain about... and still secretly want to do.
No. Absolutely not. The Packers are the Packers. Their fans wear cheese on their heads, the weather has a personal grudge against visitors, and every Detroit fan knows the correct answer is usually "FTP."
Now that we've gotten that out of the way... yes, this trip is absolutely worth it.
There are very few NFL road trips with as much history, tradition, and rivalry energy as Detroit vs. Green Bay. Whether you love the place or love rooting against the people who love the place, Lambeau is one of those stadiums every football fan should experience at least once.
This is football-first travel. You are not going for beaches, golf resorts, or nightlife. You are going because Lions vs. Packers is one of the best rivalries in the NFL and because beating Green Bay in their own stadium is deeply satisfying.
As a Lions fan, it pains me to say this, but Lambeau is one of the most recognizable football venues in America. The town is small, the focus is football, and the entire weekend revolves around the game.
Would I rather see Detroit win by 40 and send Packers fans home unhappy?
Of course.
Would I still recommend the trip?
Also yes.
